Commodore George Dewey

Occupation: George Dewey started his military career from a young age. Proving successful in the navy, Dewey quickly rose the ranks; becoming the United States’ only Admiral of the United States Navy, a position that died with him.
Position: George Dewey was for the annexation of the Philippines. He was mostly concerned with the economic issues that the annexation would solve. He was also extremely interested in preserving and building upon United States naval strength. Annexation of the Philippine Islands would be a great resource for the U.S. Navy
